Unimin Selects Creativyst to Develop Their Web Based PC Requisition System
|
Riverside, New Jersey - September 4, 2003 - Creativyst today announced completion of a web based PC requisition system for Unimin Corporation. The system, delivered on time and within budget, allows users and IT support personnel at over 50 Unimin locations worldwide to request and authorize new PCs, specifying them from a set of configuration options. The system also allows users to view ongoing status of their requests in real-time. The system replaces an annual activity in which users were emailed spreadsheets to fill out and email back to a central location. Those forms were then manipulated and emailed out again for further action. ``Unimin's multiple, geographically dispersed locations made an intranet based system a good choice for this application'' said John Repici, of Creativyst, Inc. ``they had taken the spreadsheet based system as far as they could, and determined they could do much better in terms of the time required to use and support it''. ``Users and support personnel are asking what files need to be installed on machines in order to use the new tool. They don't immediately believe that the only thing users will need to run this is their browsers.'' Unimin's manager of information support explains ``That is one of many very refreshing breaks from the past.'' Unimin Corporation (www.unimin.com) provides mineral products and engineering expertise for manufacturing and other industrial and high-tech applications.
